Dropbox and HIPAA Compliance, TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard Introduces Disruptive Tech for Doctors

Yesterday TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard announced an API integration with Dropbox that now enables physicians to send documents in a secure fashion.

TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard already has an app, called TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – StandardPro, which enables medical professionals to message each other about their patients while adhering to HIPAA compliance.

Now, they have built-in attachment functionality utilizing Dropbox. Physicians had been able to send documents using TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard before, and this type of functionality isn’t new. Doximity, another popular mobile physician communication tool that we recently reviewed, has this feature as well.

TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard’s integration with Dropbox could potentially be a game-changer for medical professionals. We published an article last year that showed why physicians love DropBox. Having the ability to store documents on DropBox that are HIPAA compliant was a feature I thought I’d never see.

Based on how the feature set has currently been described, Physicians should be able to send attachments within the TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – StandardPro app utilizing DropBox. These documents would be stored in DropBox, and users would have the ability to place pre-set lifespans and have the ability to recall file attachments at any time.

Obviously, we need to await final details on the API integration before getting too excited, but one thing is for sure, this technology has the chance to be disruptive — HIPAA compliance in the cloud has never been easier.
