TigerText Goes to Work – Android for Work, That Is.
It’s not every day that our friends at Google bestow an important distinction on us, but today was one of those days. Today, TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard became part of the Android for Work ecosystem.
Okay, so maybe you’re not totally familiar with the Android for Work (AfW) program. In a nutshell, it’s Google’s version of an MDM (Mobile Device Management solution), but specifically for Android devices. With AfW, organizations may choose between an Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution like MobileIron or AirWatch or simply use their company’s Google Apps account. AfW makes it super easy for company admins to manage the designated AfW apps in their organization.
Because enterprise apps require higher levels of security and reliability, AfW apps undergo continual and rigorous monitoring by Google to ensure they meet these requirements. What does all of it mean for TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard customers? It means any organization that has adopted Android’s Enterprise Mobile Management (EMM) solution will be able to manage select elements of the TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard app from a single place (the AfW console), rather than logging in to the TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard Admin Console. For busy admins, having one place to manage everything is a win.
Speaking of TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard for Android…
We admit it. We’re more than a little proud of our latest Android app. Working long hours and fueled by a kitchen full of free snacks, our Product and Engineering teams significantly raised the bar in both design and speed.
The newly re-architected framework was built to incorporate Android’s Always Connected service, which means the app is continuously active in the background, so whenever a message is sent, it’s delivered instantaneously to all users and devices. TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard for Android does all this while consuming less data, preserving battery life, and performing better in areas of low connectivity. Not too shabby.
On the usability front, we adopted Android’s Material Design standard, which led to a more intuitive, streamlined, and consistent user experience with tons of new improvements that include:
- Floating Action Button – Initiate a host of tasks from a single, persistent button
- Connectivity Banner – Know instantly when a network connection is weak or unavailable
- Group Message Status – Track when individual group members have read a message
- Enhanced Search – Find coworkers by their department, title, or email address
- Cloud File Sharing – Access files from services like Box, Dropbox, and Google Drive
- Filter for Attachments – Scan through all your files without scrolling the entire conversation
By now, it’s clear that we’re really, really pumped about our new Android app.
By combining our most advanced, feature-rich Android app with AfW’s suite of management tools, we can delight our end users with cutting-edge features while giving administrators an unprecedented level of deployment capability, security, and control.
TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard is available today from the Google Play store.
