Celebrating Nurses Month 2023!

Every May, we celebrate National Nurses Month to honor the nurses’ significant contributions to healthcare delivery. The American Nurses Association (ANA) established the first National Nurses Week in 1985. Since then, it has grown into a month-long celebration honoring nurses for their contributions to public health and our communities. 

Today, National Nurses Month is celebrated across the United States and globally. The theme for this year’s Nurse’s Month is “You Make a Difference.” Every nurse plays a crucial role in their community, working in a variety of specialties and throughout the continuum of care. They are on the front lines of healthcare, offering compassionate care, shaping health policy, safeguarding community health, and changing lives. Join us in honoring these amazing heroes and recognizing the tireless effort and sacrifices they make to provide compassionate care to the patients they serve. 

As we celebrate nurses this month, it’s important to acknowledge the challenges faced by those in the nursing profession. Although nursing is an occupation, for many, it is also a vocation. For all the passion nurses put into their work and the compassion they show their patients, National Nurses Month is a way for us all to express our appreciation for everything these nurses do for us. Looking forward, we must continue to support nurses and invest in their well-being to ensure the sustainability of the nursing profession. 

Nurses at the Heart of Healthcare Contest 

In celebration of National Nurses Month, TigerConnect is excited to accept nominations for our second annual Nurses at the Heart of Healthcare Contest! We recognize nurses’ dedication and commitment to caring for others and believe that the best healthcare comes from empowering nurses to bring their experience and compassion to every patient interaction. 

Do you know a nurse who embodies the qualities of compassion, patience, and integrity in their work? Take a few minutes to share your nomination. You can nominate a friend, family member, co-worker, boss, or even yourself. The contest will run from May 1st to May 15th. One grand prize winner will win a $100 Visa giftcard, and 4 honorable mentions will win a pair of On-Cloud shoes. Winners will be announced on May 30th and will be featured on the TigerConnect website and social media.

Ryan Bush is a Clinical Nurse Consultant at TigerConnect with over 14 years of experience in a variety of healthcare roles including bedside nurse, clinical applications analyst and most recently a manager of nursing informatics for the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. Ryan holds a Masters and board certification in the field of Nursing Informatics.
