Recently, we’ve been putting a lot of thought into how we can make the iOS user experience even better with some exciting enhancements to the very surface. Our overall goal is to make the interface simple and delightful for users, whether they are using TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform – Standard for the first time or the hundredth time. The first of these improvements will help users find each other in the Directory.
Sometimes it can be hard to remember every colleague’s name, which is why we’ve added fields for each user’s Title and Department info on the Profile Settings Page. These details will display in the Directory, allowing colleagues to find each other by role.
We’re also making it easier to keep track of conversations themselves with an enhanced inbox, now clearer and more informative. For example, avatar borders will now be circular for individual users and square for Groups or Distribution Lists, making it easier to tell them apart.
We’re adding displays to each conversation thread that summarize attachments, unread messages, and whether or not a user is in Do Not Disturb (DND) mode. If you’d like to delete a one-on-one message thread you can now do so from the Conversation Details screen, in addition to using a left-swipe within the inbox. On the other hand, if you’d like to start a new conversation, you can click the red icon in the upper right of the inbox to start a new message. And speaking of which, we’re making it much easier to select recipients from the Compose screen.
Previously, the only way to add recipients was to search for them by name, but with this release you can now browse for recipients from a list of contacts split into Individuals and Groups, ordered by most recent interaction. We’ve also added a Create New Group button above the contacts list.
And that’s not the only way to create a Group. We know it’s common to realize you need a new Group right when you’re starting a conversation, so we’ve made it simple to convert a new message with multiple recipients into a named Group right from the Compose screen. Click “Create Group” in order to add a name and an avatar.
To manage a Group after you created one, use the Group Details screen which now displays a list of members as well each colleague’s current DND status. When a colleague doesn’t belong in a Group anymore, that’s no problem. It’s as simple as swiping left to remove them from the Group.
Let’s face it, keeping up with all your conversations can sometimes overwhelm you during your busiest moments. Fortunately, in iOS 5.3 peace and quiet are just a thumb-swipe away.
In this release we’re introducing an option to mute a conversation, which disables all alerts for a particular thread. Don’t worry, the messages will still be delivered and viewable later but while mute is in effect, the conversation won’t make your phone buzz incessantly.
To enable the Mute option, swipe left on any conversation from the inbox screen and enjoy the sweet sound of silence. Choose how long each Mute will last, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours, or 24 hours. For the duration, the conversation will not generate push notifications, sound alerts, or in-app notifications and it will be marked with a mute icon.
If you’d like to unmute a conversation at any time, simply slide left again. Mute settings can also be changed from the Conversation Details Page.
